Fifty-five minutes, a crossing of Monaco and the last town before Italy. It is the longest of our coastal routes, and the one that forgives improvisation least.
Menton sits at the eastern edge of the department, against the border. From the airport, allow around fifty minutes in normal conditions: along the Baie des Anges, around or through Monaco, past Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and the town appears at the head of its bay.
That length changes the nature of the journey. On a Nice to Antibes run, a jam costs ten minutes. Here, an incident in a tunnel or a Grand Prix exodus can cost forty. The itinerary is therefore settled on the day: the A8 motorway inland, or the lower corniche along the sea, depending on what the traffic actually allows.
On arrival the drop-off is as close as the streets permit: the old town with its stepped lanes, the seafront, the Garavan district and its gardens, or the villas of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin on the way. The old town's approaches are narrow and largely pedestrian — we set you down at the last point where the car is still of use to you.
Real-time flight tracking, welcome in the arrivals hall of terminal 1 or 2, name board, luggage assistance. Over an hour of road, the margin is taken at the start, not along the way.
This is the direction that demands the most anticipation: an hour of driving, plus check-in and security. We start from your flight time and work backwards, allowing for the real state of the coast.
Ventimiglia is a quarter of an hour from Menton, Monaco twenty minutes along the lower corniche. Cross-border journeys are booked like any other — give the Italian destination when you book.
Grand Prix, summer weekends, the Lemon Festival: the bike taxi links Menton to the airport in forty minutes without queuing. Discover →

The longer the journey, the less it tolerates approximation. An hour of coast is prepared the day before, not as you step into the car.
Cab French RivieraJourney time. Around fifty minutes outside peak traffic. At rush hour, in summer and on event days in Monaco — which the route either crosses or skirts — the duration can rise sharply. We account for it in the time we propose.
The terminals. Terminal 2 handles most international flights, terminal 1 the low-cost carriers and part of the European traffic. Your flight number is enough for us to be in the right place.
The old town and Garavan. The old town's lanes are narrow and largely pedestrian; Garavan climbs and often ends in private access. Give the name of the residence or hotel: the drop-off is prepared, not guessed.
The Lemon Festival. During the event the centre changes its traffic plan and the seafront approaches close. Slots are booked well ahead, and drop-off points move.
