Two routes run from Nice Côte d'Azur airport to Cannes, and they are not equal depending on the hour. The A8 heads west and is the faster option most of the time: thirty-five minutes outside peak traffic. The coast road, through Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, is longer but becomes the sensible choice when the motorway locks up — a Saturday in August, a Grand Prix exodus, an accident at Villeneuve.
